Staying in shape throughout the year can be tough, but that doesn’t mean we can’t adopt some strategies and implement tips to make it easier for ourselves!
Here are 5 easy to implement tips for staying in shape year-round.
Drink More Water Before Your Meals
One of the most overlooked fitness tips is drinking more water because not only does it keep you hydrated, but it fills your stomach up and ensures that you don’t overeat during your seasonal feasts.
Limit Your Liquid Calories
It’s easy to drown in Hot Chocolate and Eggnogs during the cold winter nights, but limiting your liquid calories is one of the most important tips for staying in shape. It’s harder to track the macronutrients for most homemade beverages and they don’t fill you up as much as solid food so you may tend to overindulge in them ever too often. If possible, limit yourself to one cup and nothing more.
Have an Eating Plan
If you don’t plan, half the battle is lost. Never go for a party with the intention of eating until you’re satisfied. You’ll never be satisfied with the wide array of food around you and will just keep chomping down on those excess calories.
Workout in The Morning
Don’t let yourself succumb to procrastination when it comes to your fitness! Working out early in the morning will greatly reduce any chance of you choosing to slack off later in the day. Not to mention, you won’t find yourself gaining weight as quickly should you overeat later in the day. It’s best if you fit in a short high intensity workout before any parties!
Squeeze in a Bodyweight Workout When You’re Away from Home
If you need to travel, bring a pair of trainers so you can sneak a quick bodyweight workout while stopping between places. There are tons of opportunities for you to get a quick workout in, be it running long distance around the city or even doing a quick circuit exercise in your living space.
